Smart Home.

Lighting, sound, switching and security — integrated into the house rather than added to it.

The best technology in a house is the kind you stop noticing.

A smart home is only as good as the planning behind it. Decided early, the systems below arrive as part of the building — behind the walls, in the ceilings, at the switch — rather than as boxes fixed to it once it is finished.

What goes into the house.

  • A slim keypad of scene buttons on the wall beside a door.
    Simon

    Smart switching

Switches, sockets and keypads in one matching family through the house, with scenes and schedules set from the wall or from a phone.

  • Three brass pendant lights glowing warm against a dark wall.
    Casambi

    Lighting control

Every fitting individually dimmable and grouped into scenes over Bluetooth — controlled from a switch or an app, with no central hub to fail.

  • The Sonos range — wall, ceiling and standing speakers in an arc around the Amp — under the line “The whole-home sound system”.
    Sonos

    Sound

Music in one room or through the whole house, with speakers set into ceilings and walls so the sound arrives without the equipment showing.

  • Close-up of a dome security camera, its lens behind a clear glass bubble.
    CCTV

    Security

Cameras covering the gate, the approach and the boundary, recorded on site and viewable from anywhere when you are not there.

Ask what is specified in a development.

The things people ask about a smart home.

Which smart home systems go into a TMB house?

Simon for switches, sockets and keypads; Casambi for lighting control; Sonos for sound; and CCTV for security. Each is chosen as the specialist system for its job, rather than one brand doing all four adequately.

Is the smart home planned during design, or added once the house is built?

During design. Cable routes, keypad positions and speaker locations are drawn with the rooms, so nothing has to be chased into a finished wall later.

Does a TMB smart home still work without a phone?

Yes. The controls sit where you reach for them — a keypad by the door, a scene by the bed. The phone is an extra way in, never the only one, because a house should still work when the battery is flat.

How does Casambi lighting control work?

Every fitting is individually dimmable and grouped into scenes over Bluetooth, controlled from a switch or an app, with no central hub to fail.

Can music play through the whole house?

Yes. Sonos plays in one room or through the whole house, with speakers set into ceilings and walls so the sound arrives without the equipment showing.

Can I check the CCTV when I am away from home?

Yes. Cameras cover the gate, the approach and the boundary, recording on site, and can be viewed from anywhere when you are not there.

Does every TMB development have the same smart home systems?

Ask about the development you are interested in — the enquiry form reaches the team directly, and the answer comes from what that house specifies.
